What do you need to know about the Oregon® saw with RentMAX® chain?

CHAIN TENSIONING

If your chain hangs below the guidebar more than 1/2" - 3/4" (12 mm - 18 mm), you'll need to tension your chain.

Diamond chains stretch more because of the abrasive materials they're cutting.

THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF WATER

You'll need to supply 20 psi (1.5 bar) to the saw at a minimum flow rate of 2 gpm (8 lpm). To see if your water pressure is correct, with the water on, and the bar and chain properly tensioned, move the chain to the side. If water shoots up 12" - 18" (30 - 45 cm) you have the right pressure.

These saws need water to keep the chain cool, lubricated and flush out abrasive slurry.
Too little pressure will wear out the chain, too much pressure reduces cutting efficiency.

FUEL MIXTURE

These saws require the use of high-quality, 90 Octane (95 RON) or higher fuel combine with Oregon® 2-stroke oil (or other high-quality 2-stroke oil) specifically formulated for air-cooled power equipment at a mixture of 2% (50:1).

Oil and fuel quality is critical to the performance of the engine.
